NYSC Account Is Solely for Allowances - Daramola
The Assistant Director Finance and Accounts, NYSC Osun State, Mrs Daramola OLUBUNMI has stated that the Bank accounts opened for Corps members during their registration in the Camp is solely for the payment of their monthly allowance.
Daramola, who was represented by a staff of the Branch, Mr Tunde Adedeji, made this known while enlightening the Corps members on the functions and responsibilities of the Finance and Account Branch with regards to Corps members serving in the State at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Thursday.
According to her, the account is meant for the payment of the Corps members monthly allowance stressing that Corps members should not allow the available balance in the account exceed 100, 000 Naira as such a balance will affect the corps member's next allowance which will automatically bounces back to the Accountant General's office.
Speaking further, she noted that the Scheme has three types of payment to corps members which includes Transport allowance, Local transport allowance formally called Bicycle allowance and the monthly allowance.
She emphasized that subsequently the monthly allowance of the Corps members will require that they fulfill all the conditions required to be paid the allowance. Corps members will need to present their clearance letter from their Place of Primary Assignment and also their biometric will be captured before payment will be made.
Speaking on the State allowance, Daramola stressed that corps members serving in the private sector will be paid by the organization and not the State as the State allowance applies only to those serving in the State establishments, schools and local governments and is paid by the State Government.
