Sobalaje Instructs Corps Members on Ethics of Teaching Profession

Owing to the fact that a significant number of Corps members will be posted to schools, the Batch A stream II corps members currently undergoing their orientation course at the Ede camp have been instructed on the best professional practices to adopt in the classroom.

The corps members were given these instructions at a teaching ethics and methodology lecture held at the camp multipurpose hall on Thursday.

The keynote speaker at the lecture, Rev. Oyeniyi Sobalaje implored corps members to portray themselves in a good light wherever they are posted to serve.

In his lecture, Sobalaje stressed different areas  the corps members were expected to focus on in order to ensure optimal performance while working in the education sector.

These areas bordered on their relationship with other staff and students in their school environment, their record keeping and evaluation activities as teachers, as well as keeping to ethics of the teaching profession.

At the end of the lecture, the corps members were charged to uphold only the right values at their PPAs, such as respect, professionalism, punctuality, accessibility to students, healthy student-teacher relationships among other good conduct.

Sobalaje further took the corps members through a step by step tutorial on how to write lesson notes based on the lesson plan given to them.
