PLATOON 1 EMERGES BEST IN INTER-PLATOON DRILLS COMPETITION



Platoon I stole the center stage in the inter-platoon Drills Competition for the 2022 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course as it emerged best platoon with 55 points in the intensed inter-platoon  Drills competition held at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Friday. 

The Camp Commandant, Captain EN Uzuzu  in his welcome address, emphasised on the importance of Drills in building of the physical and mental health of Corps Members as well as test their perseverance, togetherness and foster team spirit, comradeship and oneness among the team. 

In his words " in the military discipline begins and ends on the parade ground". He stated this to stress on the essence of discipline in nation building.

He commended the NYSC management for incorporating such exercise into the Orientation program to instill discipline, unity in diversity, tolerance, endurance, sense of responsibility and to enlighten Nigerian youths on the essence of team work in Nation building.

The ten platoons were graded based on their turn out, word of command, slow and quick march, open and close order, dressing into line and the review order. 

The Chief Judge, Capt. PM Egbe also indulged each platoon to understand that they are all winners irrespective of whoever emerges winner. 

The competition saw platoon 1 emerge winner with 55 points, with platoon 4 in second place having 50.75 points and Platoon 7 in third place having 50 points whereas platoon 9 came 10th with 42.5 points.

The event was graced with the presence of the State Coordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka, Camp Director, Mr Felix Ayibiowu, and other principal camp officials.
