Platoon 9 Emerge Winners of NYSC Family Dance
The NYSC Family Dance, which is a dance competition designed to showcase the natural abilities of Corps members, held on Thursday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede with the various platoons showcasing their unique talents and abilities.
Mr Wahid Ajayi who served as the chief judge told the 2021 Batch A stream II Corps members that the essence of the dance competition is not merely for entertainment but to create a special bonding among the corps members and also instil team spirit and a positive attitude to competition in life.
Furthermore, he explained the criteria for judgement to include: Uniformity, Costume, Creativity, Originality, Stage management and Timing. He therefore encouraged all participants to stand firm even in the midst of distraction and shun any form of nudity.
The competition started with an energetic performance from platoon 9 which was followed by interesting performances from platoon 4, 3, 6, 7,1, 5 and 8.
At the end of the competition, platoon 9, 6 and 3 came in first, second and third position respectively.
Other highlights of the event include: a pantomimic performance from Oche the Dancer and a dance competition between a male and female Corps member which saw the female edge out her male counterpart.
