Ogunbiyi Adedoyin Wins Corpreneurship Challenge As SAED Closes
Ogunbiyi Adedoyin, a representative of platoon 5 has won the Unity Bank Corpreneurship challenge, for the 2021 Batch A stream 2 Corps members.
The competition organised as part of the Bank' cooperate social responsibiltity was designed to offer funding options to Corps members with viable business ideas.
The competition which held simultaneously with the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development closing ceremony took place on Friday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
Eight finalists were shortlisted from all the submissions made by representatives of the ten platoons and were made to defend their business plan before the judges.
In the end, Ezenduka Mitchelle of platoon 2, Mudashir Rofiat Temitope of platoon 6, and Ogunbiyi Adedoyin of platoon 5 came third, second and first winning a cash gift of #200,000, #300,000 and #500,000 respectively
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adewale Adegoke appreciated Unity Bank Plc for their support in helping to draw Corps members closer to the actualization of their dreams and for believing in the vision of the scheme for the Nigerian graduate youths.
He urged the eventual winners to properly utilize the funds they have been given to generate wealth.
Again, he appealed to all Corps members present to always be on guard and utilize opportunities as it comes to them. He enjoined them to get fully acquainted with the skills learnt here on camp in order to create financial stability for themselves and employment for those around them.
Earlier, the Head of SAED, Mrs Femi-Ajayi Olufunmilayo expressed her satisfaction at their willingness to always participate in the various processes of acquiring life skills available to them. Again, she appreciated the efforts of the facilitators in grooming their trainees towards becoming professionals in the various entrepreneurial fields they have chosen.
Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of been grounded in the various skills they have chosen during the ten days in-house training in order to become well established in their various businesses.
The SAED closing and exhibition ceremony featured beautiful displays from the over twenty four skills program and interplatoon competition which comprised of food processing, tailoring, auto gele, make up, tie and dye, leather works amongst others, which had the winners going home with amazing prices.
