CARNIVAL IS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE UNITY AMONG US - ADEGOKE TELL'S CORPS MEMBERS.
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has told the 2021 batch A stream 1 corps members that the carnival is designed to promote unity among all the various cultures represented.
He stated this while addressing the corps members during the Carnival at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Saturday.
According to Mr Adegoke, the representations of various cultures helps us to appreciate the uniqueness of the Nigerian society and therefore encourages all corps members to be proud of their national identity and to also lift up the banner of the nation.
"We are all one and we must always try to do things that will unify us" he added.
Furthermore, he encouraged all corps members not to forget to stick to the COVID-19 regulations at all times as it is not yet fully eradicated.
Again he spoke to the delight of corps members present that the Director General has made a donation in kind to help them celebrate the carnival better.
Speaking earlier, the Head of Man 'o' War, Mr Sola Abalaba, encouraged the corps members to be proud of their cultures and stand true to it.
The event featured series of performances, beginning from the camp officials opening dance, to platoons' Cultural performances and then special performances from Orientation Broadcasting Service, Band and the Medical team. In the end platoon 5 emerged winners of the inter-platoon cultural presentation with platoon 10 and 9 coming second and third respectively.
