THE OAS PROJECT, BE SELF EMPOWERED

 

The Own a Skill project(OAS) is a personal community development project initiated by a corps member serving in Osun state, Abdullateef Oduyoye with State Code number OS/20A/3197

He embarked on a 4weeks intensive skill acquisition training on graphic design, microsoft package, photography, catering/baking, make up, hair dressing, soap making, barbing and Adire that is ongoing at the Osogbo secretariat on the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th of January 2021 respectively.

With the aim of empowering young people with vocational skills, Abdullateef stated that acquiring a skill has become the second Education which will pave alternative way for youths to make honest living apart from depending on white collar jobs.

On the 9th of January, he started the training with a group of other skilled trainers who trained participants on their various skill of interest of which most of them are corps members who were unable to learn a skill because of the pandemic.

Abdullateef has hope that by the end of the training, participants would be able to learn enough that will enable them go for further training to perfect their skill and be future entrepreneurs considering the many hitches of getting a job in the country.
