COVID-19 PROTOCOLS MUST BE OBSERVED BY EVERYONE- MR ADEGOKE
The NYCS Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has told the 2020 Batch B stream II camp officials and collaborating agencies that COVID-19 Protocols must be observed by everyone as the scheme sets for reopening of the Orientation Camp for the three weeks orientation programme amidst the second wave of the novel Coronavirus.
This was stated during a meeting with the Heads of Assignments and Collaborating Agencies at the State Coordinator's office on Thursday, 14th January, 2021.
Mr Adegoke expressed his satisfaction at the camp's performance in the last two orientation programmes, adding that Camp activities would commence from Monday, January 18th. He also informed the house that the swearing-in/opening ceremony would be low key in adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
He further informed those in attendance that all safety protocols of COVID-19 would be strictly adhered to, hence there will be compulsory COVID-19 testing for everyone entering the camp as he advised against broadcasting the results afterwards, since it was the sole responsibility of the NCDC.
The state Coordinator added that the camp had been decontaminated and fumigation would be done on Saturday, while COVID-19 vanguard would be put in place to ensure compliance to the safety protocols to ensure a successful orientation course.
Subsequently, the Head of Accommodation on camp, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli reminded that the corps members must sign COVID-19 undertaking before entering the orientation camp, in order to keep records of the corps members that did the COVID-19 test.
Also, the representative of NCDC Mr Ayoola Ademola appreciated the scheme for their support and their role in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus and urged them to keep up the good work.
He equally pleaded that separate accommodation and food should be made available for the corps members who might be arriving late at night to the orientation camp due to distance, stressing that this would make the work easier and also ensure the safety of everyone on camp.
He further emphasized on the need for the 'Holding Bay' to be maintained in order to reduce the risk of transmission if anyone tests positive during the orientation programme.
