NDLEA CHARGES CORPS MEMBERS TO AVOID SELF MEDICATION
Representative of NDLEA, Mr Oseni Aliyu has admonished the 2020 Batch B stream 2 corps members to desist from self medication as this may lead to addiction and destroy their lives.
He stated this during the NDLEA lecture on drugs and drug abuse.
Speaking at the lecture, Mr Aliyu told the corps members that majority of drug addicts in the society started with self medication which resulted to addiction and social vices.
Also, he emphasized on the need to keep oneself gainfully busy always and avoid being idle.
"Staying idle can lead to drug abuse, we have to endeavor to avoid staying idle.
"Our culture does not accommodate drug abuse because you can be misjudged and possibly tagged to a crime you know nothing about because you abuse drugs", he said.
Subsequently, he told the corps members that drug abuse has become a fashion for youths and has caused them more harm than good, as he urged them to join in the fight against drug abuse by sensitizing the masses in order to achieve a drug free society.
