"ALL YOUR ACTIONS AND INACTIONS DURING YOUR SERVICE YEAR IS BEING MONITORED"- OKPALIFO
The Assistant Director Corps Discipline and Reward, NYSC Osun State, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli has told the 2020 Batch B Stream 2 corps members that all their actions and inactions during their service year is being monitored and that those with outstanding performance will be rewarded.
She stated this while taking the corps members through the Corps Discipline and Reward lecture on Tuesday.
According to Mrs Okpalifo, it is very important to adhere to the rules and regulations of the scheme in order to scale through the service year successfully.
She emphasized on the need for corps members to desist from impersonation, insubordination, trauncy and other social vices as these attracts serious sanctions ranging from extension of service to remobilization.
She equally stated that the scheme rewards outstanding performance as she enlightened the corps members on the kinds of awards they stand to get should they be outstanding in all the cardinal programmes of the scheme. Such as: the Chairman's merit award, State honours award, and presidential honours award.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Director, Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr Jimmy Fatogun, stated that the branch is responsible for monitoring and inspecting corps members in their places of primary assignment and everywhere they go during their service year.
He further warned the corps members against leaving their PPA or local government without permission from the State Coordinator, as this is punishable under the NYSC Act.
Subsequently, he told the corps members to follow the right channel of communication if they want to make complaints or pass vital information to the scheme.
He concluded by Warning the corps members against inducing their rejection at their places of primary assignment stressing that this may lead to extension of service year.
