ADEGOKE SENSITIZES CORPS MEMBERS ON NYSC ACTS AND BYE LAWS
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has sensitized the 2020 Batch B Stream 2 corps members on the NYSC Acts and Bye Laws which according to him, are meant to guide the conduct of the corps members throughout the service year.
The sensitization took place at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, On Thursday.
According to Mr Adegoke, NYSC was established for the reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the nation after the civil war and also to instill discipline in the Nigerian youths. He therefore charged the corps members to work hard in order to contribute their quota towards building and integrating the Nation.
He further told the corps members that only those who serve and participate in the four cardinal programmes of the scheme, namely: Orientation, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service and Winding and Passing Out, are qualified for the Certificate of National Service.
He equally warned them against influencing or lobbying their posting or inducing their rejection at their places of primary assignment.
"Do not lobby your posting or induce your rejection because it is a punishable offence under the NYSC Acts and Bye Laws" he said.
Subsequently, he charged them to be at their duty post always and ensure they do not leave their places of primary assignment without the consent of their local government inspectors in order to avoid query which may result to extension of service.
Conclusively, he enjoined them to follow the right channel of communication whenever they want to make complaints or seek for advice from the management.
"Contact your LGI first anytime you want to make complaints" he concluded.
