BE THE CHANGE IN YOUR PPA- MRS ADERIBIGBE ADMONISHES CORPS MEMBERS
The Retired Director Press and Public Relations, NYSC, Mrs Abosede Aderibigbe has charged the 2020 Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members to be the change in their places of primary assignment in order to keep themselves and the scheme's flag flying.
She stated this while addressing the corps members at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, On Friday.
According to Mrs Abosede, NYSC plays a great role in all sectors of the country. According to her, the scheme's glowing relevance is made possible through the relentless efforts and impact of corps members at their various places of primary assignment.
Speaking further, she encouraged them to relate well with one another and build enduring relationships which will benefit them in the future, stressing that the friends they make today might be their helpers tomorrow.
She also reminded them of the importance of acquiring a skill citing many examples of corps members who are excelling in the world of business even while still in service. She said that Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme was introduced into the scheme in year 2012 and has so far helped in equipping corps members with skills channeled towards self reliance and Nation building.
"It is important to get a skill that will benefit you now and in future.
" SAED has helped so many people become millionaire and it is important you embrace SAED now.
"It is important that you diversify your income source, invest in different businesses and don't be dependent on your salary alone", she said.
Subsequently, she charged the corps members to be good ambassadors of themselves, their family, the NYSC and Nigeria because they have a great role to play in the growth and development of the country.
Conclusively, she appreciated the scheme for their efforts in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus that has affected the country and the world at large, adding that the legacies of the scheme can never go unnoticed.
She equally donated faceshields to the Orientation Broadcasting Service in appreciation of their service on camp.
