"CARNIVAL IS MEANT TO APPRECIATE AND CELEBRATE OUR CULTURAL DIVERSITIES"- ADEGOKE

 

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has told the 2020 Batch A and Batch B Stream 1B corps members that carnival is meant to promote and celebrate our cultural diversities and keep us united as one. 

He stated this while addressing the corps members during his carnival opening remarks at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, On Saturday.

According to Mr Adegoke, the carnival is  meant to celebrate our cultural differences and understand other people's culture for peaceful coexistence.

He further told the corps members to celebrate with joy, love and oneness and also not to forget to adhere to the COVID-19 Preventive Protocols as he officially declares the carnival day open.

Also Speaking, the Head of Man 'O' War on camp, Mrs Olabiyi emphasized on the need for the corps members to appreciate and celebrate their cultures with confidence, adding that culture is the way of life and should be promoted anywhere we find ourselves.

In Addition, she appreciated the corps members for adorning themselves beautifully in their cultural attires.

"I appreciate you all for decking up in beautiful attires, despite the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the country's economy", she concluded.

The event featured  the camp officials opening dance, presentations by the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) Crew, Man 'O' War, the Red Cross Team, inter-platoon cultural presentations with platoon 8 emerging winner, and platoon 5 and 6 in the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
