"UTILIZE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED THROUGHOUT THE ORIENTATION COURSE"- ADEGOKE TELLS CORPS MEMBERS
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has told the 2020 Batch B Stream 1B corps members to utilize the knowledge they acquired throughout the orientation course to develop their host communities and contribute their quota in Nation building.
He stated this while addressing the corps members at the low key closing ceremony for the three weeks orientation programme at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, On Tuesday.
According to Mr Adegoke, the scheme has inculcated in them discipline and knowledge that will help them during and after their service year as he urged them to utilize this effectively for growth and development of the country.
He further implored the corps members not to relent in observing the COVID-19 preventive protocols as they move into the larger society where they are more vulnerable and exposed to the covid-19 virus.
"COVID-19 is real, ensure you observe the preventive protocols as you are about to go into the larger community in order to keep yourself and everyone around you safe.
"Also ensure that you sensitize people at your places of primary assignment and host communities on the need to wear their face masks, wash their hands regularly, adhere to social distancing and sanitize regularly", he added.
subsequently, he warned the corps members against inducing their rejection at their places of primary assignment, stressing that it is a punishable offence in the scheme.
"Do not induce your rejection, accept your postings in good faith in order to have a hitchfree service year", he said.
He further reminded the corps members that majority of them will be posted to the educational sector as he encouraged them to positively represent the scheme and their family wherever they find themselves.
In addition, he assured the corps members that vehicles will be available to convey them to their places of primary assignment.
Conclusively, he appreciated the NYSC officials, NCDC team and the collaborating agencies for their relentless efforts in ensuring the success of the orientation programme and the corps members for their commitment and obedience to the rules and regulations, as he officially declared the 2020 Batch B Stream 1B Orientation Programme Closed.
