Sequel to alterations caused by the outbreak of Corona virus, a global pandemic, the NYSC State Coordinator, State of Osun, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke has debunked rumors over the recent developments in the scheme.

Adegoke during a monitored interview on OSBC television on Thursday refuted the claims that there are circulars prompting corps members to stop activities and travel outside the State.

He noted that the only circular sent out was that which had temporarily suspended CDS activities and monthly biometric clearance.

In his words, “the management of NYSC headed by Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, said, corps members are expected to stay at home while corps doctors should be at their duty post to render their services. However, if anyone wants to travel, they should obtain permission.”
According to him, corps members who have traveled without permission are on their own.

He advised the corps members to stay put where they are as there is nowhere that is safe while enjoining those who are still around to adhere to safety measures.

Speaking on the payment of monthly allowance, the NYSC boss stated that the temporal suspension of biometrics will not affect corps members' allowances for the month of March and April.

Mr. Adegoke also cleared the air on the 2020 Batch A corps members who just spent about 10 days at the orientation camp.

According to him, they are going to be paid their March allowance as soon as the Management prompts.

He said, "some of them have been receiving messages from the banks concerning their account details and from my end, I have inspected the state account and discussed with the  bankers. So, the lists are with us and we are scrutinizing it so that at least there will be no omissions."

The state coordinator however urged corps members to listen to radio and television and avoid the social media that is amassed with fake news.
