OSUN NYSC SET UP WELFARE COMMITTEE IN ODO-OTIN
The Osun State chapter of the National Youth Service Corps has set up a Corps Members welfare committee In Odo-Otin central local government area of the state.
The Committee which is saddled with the responsibility of security of corps members, accomodation, welfare, identification of community development project amongst others was set up by the NYSC in conjunction with the Local government chairman of Odo-otin, Hon Samuel Oduoye and the traditional leader of the town, Oba Samuel Adeoye Oloronke the second for a better welfare of corps members.
Speaking before the inauguration of the Committee, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke stressed the committee's resolve in seeing to the welfare of corps members especially security, accomodation and finance.
Mr. Adegoke also urged the corps members in Odo-otin not to take their foot off the pedal and be more serious as the Federal government is expecting more from them in the discharge of their duties to both the state and the federation as a whole.
The Chairman of Odo-otin Local government, Hon Samson Oduoye,who applauded the creation of the committee, urged the committee to improve on its welfare programs for the benefit of the corps members.
While assuring the corps members of the committee's prompt and diligent discharge of it's duties, the traditional Ruler of Odo-otin, Oba Samuel Adeoye, Oluronke the second , the Olukuku of Okuku, affirmed that there is ample security in the local government for corp members.
He also warned against incessant travelling and it's dangers to corps members.
The committee however comprises the council chairman as chairman of the committee, the traditional ruler of Odo otin, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Odo otin, Head of social welfare, the LG Chairman of Private Secondary Schools, Head of water and Environmental sanitation and the NYSC Zonal Inspector as secretary.
