NYSC, EFCC STAGE ANTI-CORRUPTION RALLY IN OSUN
The National Youth Service Corps in partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, State of Osun, have staged a rally against the menace of corruption in Nigeria.
The rally which kicked off at the stadium today had in attendance the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Osun, Mr. Yemi Lawal, NYSC Area Coordinator, Mr. Emmanuel Attah, the State Coordinator, Mr. Adewale Adegoke, the representative of EFCC, Mr. Seun Oluwakorede, officials of NYSC Osun, the Police, Federal Road Safety Corps and corps members.
The Nation-wide rally which occurred across all states of the country, is part of the anticorruption war being perpetrated by the anti-graft agency.
While addressing the corps members after the walk-rally, the State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr. 'Yemi Lawal, said that the essence of this walk is actually for the benefit of our society because corruption everywhere and it is important that we kick corruption out of our society.
According to him, "the growth of any society depends on the youths, stating that corruption kills the society."
Also speaking at the event, the South-West Zonal Coordinator NYSC, Mr. Emmanuel Attah noted that for the country to meet it's target of development and corrupt-free society, the youths must be engaged in the fight against corruption.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Adewale Adegoke, in an interview urged corps members to do the right thing and be dutiful by showing zero tolerance for corruption.
The representative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Seun Oluwakorede, also charged all Nigerians especially the youths to be proactive by reporting perpetrators of corrupt acts such as internet fraud and not see themselves as witch hunters but agents of the anti-corruption war to reduce corruption.
