Corps Members Promote Quality Education, Organize Mathematics Quiz Competition For Schools In Osogbo

Corps members from the Education CDS group, Osogbo Local Government have joined in promoting the importance of quality education while organizing a Mathematics Quiz Competition for schools in Osogbo, Osun State.

 

The competition which was held amidst friendly environment had Miss Grace Abiola from Ataoja Government High School emerging as winner among contestants from schools including Osogbo Government High School, St. Charles High School, and Osogbo High School.

Speaking at the quiz opening ceremony, the Principal of the host school, Salvation Army Middle School, Mrs. Ogunlade applauded the corps members for the selflessness and vision to execute such project. She further commended the students for the efforts and ingenuity displayed during the competition.

Also speaking at the event, the Senior Technical Officer, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, State of Osun, Mr. Kunle Abimbola added that the corps members have improved the quality of education and developed the potentials of the students.

The President of the group, Mr Yasir Abiola Sulaimon speaking with our correspondent revealed that the quiz competition was aimed at building the students' confidence while solving mathematics. According to him, "Our aim is to ensure the students no longer have fear for mathematics.

The event which also doubled as a Book launch/Presentation by the President of the Education CDS, tittled; “Get to the Zenith”, had Mr. Kunle Commending the president for his innovation, patience and educative spirit to lead other corps members, and therefore recommended the book to everyone as it is a motivational book.
