"ALWAYS PREACH THE GOSPEL OF GENDER EQUALITY"- Alhaja Salawu Advises Corps Members.
The NYSC Osun State Gender Desk Officer, Alhaja Salawu Kehinde has called on the 2019 Batch B stream II Corps members to enhance gender equality in their communities and the nation at large.
She made this appeal on Tuesday, 27th August 2019 while delivering a lecture titled "Gender Equality" at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, State of Osun.
Speaking further, she stressed the need for corps members to eradicate the mentality of gender inequality, sighting the example of persons who think two graduates are not compatible for marriage. As According to her, irrespective of one's academic qualification, marriage should based on team work.
Additionally she compared the percentage with which the female gender are represented in the Nigerian political, social and economic systems, while adding that for development to thrive in any family, society or nation, all hands must clear the deck irrespective of one's gender.
She concluded by admonishing the corps members not to relent in sensitizing the society on the need to embrace gender equality in order to attain development in the family, society and nation at large.
