ICT, THE NEW JOB ENGINE - GOOGLE
With the advancement in ICT , corps members in Osun state have been encouraged to take up professional courses in digital skills offered by Google to have the required skills in fields like business, education, banking and any other sector.
The lecture tagged "mind the gap" which was aimed at helping youths in taking their place in the digital society was delivered to the 2019 Batch 'A' corps members by Gbenle Abdulmalik, a lead trainer of google digital skills at the NYSC multipurpose hall, Ede, Osun state.
Mr Abdulmalik stressed that the digital world is rapidly penetrating various aspects of life. It is on this note that he admonished corps members to sharpen their skills in digital activities so as to stay relevant in the 21st century.
Speaking further, he said that machines are fast taking over some jobs and it is only those that are skilled in the area of ICT that would be considered by the hiring companies.
He therefore enjoined corps members to acquire knowledge and have basic understanding in online advertisements, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and online marketing.
He added that basic knowledge in presentation packages like PowerPoint, Microsoft word, Microsoft excel and other computer applications will be an added advantage to graduates during job search.
