Former Editor of the Editorial Board Community Development Service(CDS) now reporter at Rave FM in Osogbo, Osun State, Emmanuel Ujiadughele has said that not everyone can be a news writer. He made this statement while training board members on beat coverage at the CDS meeting held on Thursday, 4th April, 2019.

He said that news writing is different from all other types of writing and so requires professionalism and ingenuity. According to him, there is no textbook approach to anything in life especially news writing, urging board members to follow the trend as most textbooks are out of touch on modernity.

The former editor also trained board members on three styles of writing a lead stressing the need for catchy headlines and meaty body in a news story.  He however urged board members to be flexible and creative in their writing while not neglecting the structured nature of a news story including the 5Ws and H.

The meeting also had the media crew presenting a prototype of the Ajuwaya.com program aired on OSBC to the delight of board members.
