CREATE SEX, GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AWARENESS- ATTORNEY GENERAL URGES CORPS MEMBERS

The Honourable Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, state of Osun, Dr Ajibola Bashiru has urged corps members to create awareness of sex and gender-based violence at grassroot levels.
Dr Bashiru made this known at the inauguration of sex and gender-based violence response team in Oshogbo, the state capital.
The Attorney General in his remarks stated that the response team comprises of the media, ministry of Women and Children, Non Governmental Organisations, Health and Educational sector among others.
Bemoaning the havoc of sexual violence, he emphasized on the need to counsel victims of such acts, for ease of emotional and physical pains caused by the menace.
He called on victims, youths and society as a whole to speak up and reach out to appropriate bodies, as a way of tackling the menace.
The event was graced by Rule of Law Advisor to the vice president of Nigeria, Dr Akingbolahan Adeniran, Commissioner for Empowerment & Youth Engagement, Mrs Mofolake Adegboyega, Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Alhaja Latifat Giwa, representatives from the Nigerian Bar Association, corps members among others.
