PROCRASTINATION: CAUSES AND EFFECTS
According to Oxford dictionary, Procrastination is the act of delaying or putting off tasks until the last minute, or past their deadline. In another way procrastination is define as a "form of self a regulation failure, characterized by the irrational delay of tasks despite potentially negative consequences.
Procrastination can also be seen as; The act of postponing, delaying or putting off, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.
Causes of Procrastination
1.Fear of Failure.
2.Waiting for deadline
3.Lack of perseverance
4.Indecisiveness.
Effects of Procrastination
1.Waste of time: This is a terrible feeling and leaves you guilty of wasting time because you cannot get it back.
2.Stress and anxiety: You will lose your mental health because procrastination is linked to problems like stress and anxiety. When you procrastinate, you also lose sleep over it and eventually stress yourself, thereby reducing your health as well as productivity
3.Lack of control:When you procrastinate, you don’t make decisions within your control
5.Lack of focus: You lose your focus and concentration and a reduced interest in activities.
