ENFORCING DISCIPLINE AND REWARDING EXCELLENCE IS OUR DUTY - OLAWALE

Mrs Veronica Olawale of the Corps Discipline and Reward Branch NYSC Osun State, has told the 2021 batch C stream II corps members that discipline is key to achieving success in life.

She made this statement while delivering a lecture on Corps Discipline and Reward at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede, on Tuesday.

Olawale enlightened the members on the functions of the Branch stating that the Branch is saddled with the responsibility of enforcing discipline and rewarding excellence during the service year.

She also admonished corps members to always follow the right channel of communication when writing or making enquiries. She went further to expose some offences that attract disciplinary actions to include: inducement of rejection, fighting, failure to do the monthly Biometrics, absence from CDS meetings, impersonation, traveling without permission, absconding from service, among others.

Olawale encouraged the corps members to always imbibe the habit of being punctual and time conscious in their various places of primary assignment.

Speaking on rewards, she outlined the various rewards in NYSC, to include Chairman's Merit Award, State Honours Award and the Presidential Honors Award. She explained further the evaluation processes in the NYSC Scheme using Forms 2a, 2b and 2c.

However, she cautioned Corps members that embarking on individual projects is not the only criteria for state and national awards and urged them to always be resolute in the discharge of their duties as corps members.

In her concluding statements, she affirmed her belief in the corps members to abide by the laid down guidelines for a fruitful service year and wished them well in this new phase of their lives.
