STATE COORDINATOR ADMONISHES OFFICIALS TO IMBIBE EXCELLENCE, TEAM SPIRIT AS ORIENTATION COURSE KICKS OFF

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka has admonished camp officials to imbibe team spirit as the 2021 Batch C stream II Orientation Course kick-starts tomorrow.

She made this known while delivering her opening speech at the maiden meeting with  heads of committees, camp officials and collaborating agencies at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Tuesday.

Shokpeka appreciated God for the safe arrival of all officials to the orientation camp. She commended the officials for the discipline, commitment team spirit and positive disposition displayed during the last orientation. She urged them to uphold same mantra as the 2021 Batch C Stream II orientation begins.

Shokpeka charged the officers to be optimistic in their words, actions and disposition towards the prospective corps members in order to have a positive and enduring impact on them thereby making the work of achieving the objectives for the orientation programme easier in spite of the regimented environment.

She reiterated the need to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols as laid down by the NCDC, and also to be security conscious throughout the duration of the orientation course.

Speaking further, she advised all camp officials to pay keen attention to reception, dress code, speech and good disposition as the prospective corps members arrive. She also enjoined the security officers to be gentle while searching the PCMs.

"Work as one, function as a team because together everyone achieves more", she said as she concluded her speech.

While giving her Goodwill message, the Camp Director, Mrs Mary Adebesin, said that she is trusting God for the smooth running and excellence during the orientation course.

She encouraged camp officials to have on their name tags and face masks at all times and ensure that their presence is recorded in all camp activities.

She appealed and solicited for the support of each camp official in their respective places of assignment. "When we are united, there is so much we can do together", she said.

The Camp Commandant, Captain Oyekanmi O, Resident Officer, Mr Tunde Akogun ably represented by Mrs Ogedengbe Odunayo, called for team spirit amongst officials and innovations that will make the orientation course more exciting.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the Deputy Camp Director, Alhaji Wahid Ajayi, appreciated the State Coordinator and pledged on behalf of all camp officials to continue with the good work, support and commitment officers in the State were known for.

Earlier, all camp officials and camp marketers were made to undergo the Mandatory COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test, and only those who tested negative were allowed residence on camp.
