SHOKPEKA SEEKS MORE SUPPORT FOR NYSC, VISITS NSCDC BOSS
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka has called for a more robust support from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
She made the call when she paid a courtesy call on the Commandant of the Corps, Emmanuel Ocheja in his office in Osogbo.
The visit according to was meant to strengthen the bond between the Corps and the Scheme in the State.
Shokpeka expressed gratitude to the Commandant for all the previous supports rendered to the Scheme during Orientation programmes in the State.
She assured the Commandant of the Scheme's continued support in supplying capable manpower to the Corps whenever the need arises and called for more support for the Scheme in ensuring adequate security for corps members in the State.
She called for more protection for corps members at their places of primary assignments and corps lodges across the State as their safety is sacrosanct to the management and officials of the Scheme.
Meanwhile, the Commandant has commended the zeal and efforts of the State Coordinator, Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka. stating that to whom much is given much is expected and that she has by her visit and track record proven herself worthy to be saddled with this great responsibility of coordinating the affairs of NYSC in the State.
He pledge his unwavering support for to the achievement of the Scheme's objective in the State. "I am willing to provide all necessary supports in whatever capacity", he said.
The Commandant reassured that the synergy which has always existed between the Corps and the Scheme will be further strengthened by him as long as he was in charge.
He praised the state coordinator for doing a great job in managing the affairs of Corps members in the orientation camp, stating that reports from his officers about the management of the Scheme and her officers have always been positive.
Conclusively, Mrs Shokpeka, stated that she was really encouraged by the words of the the Commandant. She expressed her gratitude to the commandant by presenting to him books and various publications and compendium on the NYSC Scheme.
