Carnival Is Designed To Unify Us - Akin-Moses

The Director NYSC South West Area Office, Mrs Olufunmilayo Akin- Moses has told the 2021 Batch A stream II corps members that carnival is designed to unify different groups of people together.

She made this statement during her scheduled visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Saturday.

According to her, the carnival helps to highlight our uniqueness as Nigerians and helps to promote love, unity and oneness. She therefore advised corps members to give their best to make the occasion memorable.

Furthermore, Mrs Olufunmilayo stated that NYSC is a bond that unifies the nation and as such must be given full support in order to carry out its goals and objectives. 

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke told the corps members that the carnival is one of the major ways through which culture and tradition is celebrated. He therefore encouraged them to represent proudly their cultural heritage.

Again, he appreciated the level of their commitment towards the various activities on camp and enjoined them to remain resolute even till the very end.

Mr Adegoke further appreciated the makers of munch it, and minimie chinchin for sponsoring the carnival.

The carnival comprised of various cultural performances from members of each platoon. Their performances were judged based on organization, costume and entertainment.

At the end of the performances, Platoon 1, 7 and 4 came first, second and third respectively in the competition. 

The carnival featured special presentations by the Orientation Broadcasting Service, Red Cross, Medicals, Servicom, Band and Man O'War. Prizes include cash prizes and cartons of Munch it.
