YOUR SAFETY IS IN YOUR HANDS-ON GENERAL JOE
General Joe komolafe (Rtd) has told the 2021 Batch A Stream II corps members deployed to Osun and those dislodged from Lagos state that their safety is in their hands.
This statement was made by him at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede on Saturday.
He addressed the misconception that the safety of an environment is tied to the functionality of security personnels only. He debunked the notion, re-establishing the fact that ensuring safety is not the sole job of security officials, but the duty of every individual and groups alike.
He reminded Corps members of the state of security in the nation, as he highlighted several security threats which are not limited to terrorism alone but involves ethnic and religious intolerance, kidnapping, Political thuggery and so on, all of which adversely affect the peace of the nation.
In highlighting practical ways to ensure safety, he advised Corps members to avoid social media relationships and areas with social crisis and ensure not to stay in isolation or in isolated places .
Again, he advised Corps members to be proactive, build self confidence and avoid characters that can lure them into uncomfortable situations where their security is not assured.
He encouraged Corps Members to develop the confidence in themselves, to be calm while in danger and shun all forms of evil practices as they have unbearable consequences.
Additionally, he urged all present never to divulge personal information to people as it may hunt them in the future.
