MIND THE GAP ENLIGHTENS CORPS MEMBERS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF ACQURING DIGITAL SKILLS

 

Mr. Adeleye Oluwaferanmi from Google Mind the Gap has enlightened the 2021 batch A stream ll corps members on the importance of acquiring digital skills in our world today. 

While speaking to corps members at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede,  on Saturday,  he stated that digital skills are highly needed to solve complex societal problems and knowledge of these skills gives one an edge in securing jobs.

He explained the concept of digital economy to mean the broad range of economic activity that uses digitalised information to function effectively, without which people will be unable to solve persisting problems.

Furthermore, he stated the fact that the world has moved from the analogical form of business operations which entails physical interactions to a digital one which involves the use of advanced computer operations. 

Mr. Adeleye therefore encouraged all corps members present to acquire digital skills even as they go through their service year. 

In the end, a debate session was organised with two representatives each from the ten platoons participating and analysing the topic on Leadership not just being a position but a prestigious lifestyle. 

At the end of the debate, the representatives of Platoon 2, 1 and 10 came first, second and third positions respectively.
