Language Is Paramount In Building Quality Relationships -Adenle
The Head of servicom and Gender on Camp, Mrs Adenle Caroline, has told 2021 Batch A, stream II Corps members that language is very important in building strong and lasting relationships.
She made the statement while teaching language studies at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Monday.
While speaking to the corps members, she introduced them to the basics of the Yoruba language and explained that the knowledge of the language will help them integrate better in their host communities.
She stressed the fact that all corps members need to be able to speak basic Yoruba words for daily conversations with the indigenes, as this would help make daily interactions easy.
In addition to that, she taught corps members greetings, numbers, parts of the body and also, days of the week and months of the year which she used as a song for easy understanding.
Again, she encouraged them to develop the qualities of hardwork and humility even as they serve their country.
Mrs Adenle ensured the corps members are brought to terms with the basic words in Yoruba language by asking corps members to repeat all she had said and also converse with each other in Yoruba.
