KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND BE INFORMED- IBIKUNLE

 

The representative of the National Orientation Agency NOA, Osun State Chapter, Mr A.O Ibikunle has urged Corps members to be knowledgeable about their environment and also be skilled in problem solving.

This he said while delivering a lecture on core values and value reorientation at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Tuesday.

Mr Ibikunle enlightened corps members on the Agency and her functions. He stated that the agency which is under the Ministry of Information and Culture and under decree 100 of the 1993 constitution of the Federal Government of Nigeria was created to promote social mobilization to execute mass mobilization and activism against negative vices in the nation, to promote ethical reawakening by mobilizing opinion and support for government policies, projects and activities.

He added that it is also the duty of the agency to keep citizens and the government on its toes in maintaining peace and orderliness in the nation. 

Speaking further, he stated another function of NOA which is to enlighten the citizens on their civic rights and responsibilities. He thereafter urged corps members to know their rights and how to exercise them. He also urged them to speak against every violation of human right.

In concluding his address he stated the fact that the human society is dynamic and respect of values must exist for peaceful coexistence of humans. He therefore advised corps members to shun all forms of vices.
