YOUR WELFARE IS OUR PRIORITY- ALHAJI ADAMU TELLS CORPS MEMBERS
The Assistant Director Corps Welfare and Health, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu has said that the general well- being of corps members is of utmost concern to NYSC in the State and that measures have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of corps members in the State.
Adamu stated this while delivering an NYSC lecture on corps welfare and health at the ongoing orientation at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Wednesday.
He also said that the camp officials and other staff have been doing their very best to ensure that Corps Members are well taken care of in the State.
Following this, he spoke on the posting policy of the scheme to places of primary assignment saying that Corps Members will be posted to places where their services are needed and therefore they should accept their postings in good faith.
He also encouraged them to be disciplined at all times which should reflect in their active participation in camp activities and adherence to camp rules and regulations.
In the same light, the Assistant Director Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr Fatogun Jimmy emphasized the fact that good and effective service delivery is important.
"The quality of service you offer will determine how you will be treated", he said.
He further explained that Corps Inspection and Monitoring Branch is responsible for the inspections of Corps Members at their places of primary assignment. He went ahead to add that community development activities are also monitored and inspected as well.
According to Mr Fatogun, the branch ensures that corps members are treated right and that they also are treating their employers and the community where they are serving right.
He continued by stating that through inspections and monitoring, the scheme ensures that corps members represent the scheme and the nation well in their host communities.
With a warning tone, he told Corps members that since inspection is not announced, everyone who wishes to travel or be absent for some other reason must take permission, reasons being that corps members who absent themselves from their places of primary assignment without the written approval of the State Coordinator will be made to face the disciplinary committee of the State. He encouraged corps members to be responsible, patriotic and accountable in the discharge of their duties.
