NCDC SENSITIZES CORPS VANGUARD VOLUNTEERS ON COVID -19 SAFETY MEASURES
The representative of the NCDC on camp, Mr Ayoola Ademola, has on Wednesday sensitized the 2021 Batch A Stream 1 Corps vanguard volunteers on safety measures to take on Covid -19 prevention at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
According to Mr Ayoola, the fight against COVID-19 is a continuous one and as such they must not relent in ensuring that the spread does not continue. He encouraged them to do their bit in ensuring that preventive measures are adhered to.
Furthermore, he emphasized that standing for the right thing may bring about rejection from friends and strangers alike as people may not be willing to listen. He advises volunteers to perservere in doing the right thing.
“People may not listen to you as you tell them to obey COVID-19 rules and may even dislike you for telling them to do the right thing. Do not allow such attitudes deter you from carrying out your duties as vanguards”.
He then admonished that their duties continues even after camp, and extends to public spaces such as the market. He assured them of the support of NCDC in projects aimed at curbing the virus.
Meanwhile, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke who also addressed the volunteers encouraged them to be faithful to their duties and seek help from officials when the need arises.
