WE WILL SOLIDIFY EXISTING RELATIONSHIP WITH NYSC - BRIG. GEN. YAKUBU

 

The Commander, Engineer Construction Command, Nigeria Army, Ede, Brig. Gen. N. Yakubu has reiterated the support of the Nigerian Army for the NYSC scheme in the State.

Brig. Gen. Yakubu made this known when the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Ede, on Thursday.

The commander described the relationship between the Nigerian Army and the NYSC as a familial one. According to him, the relationship he met when he took over the leadership of the Command cannot be trivialized but rather must be solidified for a continued and evergreen synergy.

Yakubu, who further described the visit as a reflection of the scheme's solidarity with the command, assured the scheme of the continued support of the Nigerian Army towards the attainment of the scheme's mandates and aspirations, and also towards the protection and maintainance of orderliness during orientation programs and after.

Earlier, the State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke appreciated the command for living up to its expectation of equipping corps members deployed to the State with basic paramilitary trainings during orientation program and also for the role played in protecting camp facilities and the Secretariat of the scheme in the State during the Endsars nationwide protest.

Adegoke further appreciated the command for the crop of skilled and disciplined officers sent during orientation programs, as this, accordig to him, has really assisted the scheme in achieving her mandate of instilling discipline and patriotism in the corps members deployed to the State. He finally called for the sustenance and building of a stronger synergy and collaboration between the scheme and the command in the State.
