PLATOON 8 AND 3 EMERGE WINNERS MISS NYSC AND MR MACHO CONTEST AFTER A CLOSE CONTEST

  

The representatives of Platoon 8 Amurawaiye Oluwafunmilayo Elizabeth and Platoon 3 Kiri Timothy Martins  have emerged winners of the MISS NYSC and Mr Macho Contest respectively for the 2021 Batch A stream 1 orientation course. 

The  breath-taking contest took place on Saturday, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede Osun State.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke  who spoke during the contest, informed the corps members present that variety night is part of the social culture developed to ensure that self-esteem of participants is built up and they are able to discover their hidden potentials in a short space of time.

He further commended all the participants and their trainers for having to go through all the rigors of training to ensure that they put in their best but reminded them that there can only be one winner and as such they should take the results in good faith.

Again, he encouraged corps members to develop the spirit of hard work and perseverance, team work and diligence in order to attain their goals.

In addition, he appreciated the principal camp officials present at the event as he righteously declared the variety night open.

The programme  featured the Miss NYSC and Mr Macho contest by the ten platoons who came out in their ‘bib and tucker’ for introduction, first, second and third appearance and the fourth round where their mental capacities were tested in a question and answer session. The event also featured musical performances and comedy.

Miss Izuagbe Mary from Platoon 1 and Nwalieji Adaobi from Platoon 6 were the second runner up and first runner up respectively for the Miss NYSC contest while Ubongabsi Godwin from Platoon 2 and Ekeh Pascal from Platoon 9 were the second runner up and first runner up respectively.  

Also present at the event were the Camp Director, Mr Musa Abdulrasheed, the Camp Commandant Lt E.C Orie, the Resident Officer 1, Mrs Adebola Jummai, amongst many other officials.
