LANGUAGE IS VERY PARAMOUNT TO BUILDING HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS- MRS ADENLE
The Head of Servicom and Gender on camp, Mrs Adenle Caroline has told the 2021 Batch A Stream 1 corps members that language is very paramount to building human relationships and the Yoruba language is a very good tool for building such relationships.
She made this statement while teaching the Corps members basic Yoruba language on Tuesday at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation, Ede.
Speaking at the lecture, Mrs Adenle told the Corps members that it is very vital for them to learn the language of their host communities as this will help to foster unity and oneness between them and their neighbours, hence the need to build the relationship becomes very necessary.
Again, she encouraged corps members to learn the culture of respect as it is highly demanded by the Yoruba people. She insisted that it is possible to learn the language with a high level of persistence.
While delivering her lecture, she taught them greetings, numbers, days of the week, months of the year, names of food , how to make some monetary transactions with a lot of practical demonstrations.
The lecture ended with evaluations based on what was learnt. The Corps members from different States, except the Yoruba speaking States were given opportunity to give a feedback on what they have learnt in order to portray their level of understanding.
