CHIEF TUNDE ADMONISHES PCMS ON THE NEED TO TREASURE CUSTOMS AND TRADITION
Chief Tunde Fadairo, an Assistant Director with the SouthWest Area Office has admonished the 2021 Batch A stream 1 prospective corps members to treasure their customs and traditions and that of their host community also.
Speaking at the traditional lecture for the Batch at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Chief Fadairo enlightened the members on the history and culture of the yoruba people.
In his address, the Chief explained that the Yorubas are majorly in Osun, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Lagos and some parts of Edo State.
Speaking on the occupations of the Yorubas, Chief Tunde stated that the occupations of the Yorubas include: hunting, fishing and weaving of Aso-Oke.
He informed the PCMs that tribal marks and dressing are historically known for its usefulness in helping to identify people in the olden times.
He further stated that the knowledge of history and culture of the Yoruba people is important is important as it will help the corps members to integrate better in their places of primary assignment.
