"DRUGS CAN RENDER YOU USELESS IN THE SOCIETY"- NDLEA BOSS

The Head of NDLEA on Camp, Mr Oseni Aliyu has told the 2020 Batch A corps members that drugs can render them useless physically, psychologically, economically and can also render them irrelevant in the society when abused. 

He made this known while taking the corps members through the  NDLEA lecture on drugs and drug abuse at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, On Wednesday. 

According to Mr Oseni, some drugs when abused lasts longer in their system than could ever be imagined, hence they should desist from consuming drugs not prescribed by doctors or drugs that are socially unacceptable. 

He speaking on the possible causes of drug abuse, Mr Oseni told the corps members that idleness can lead to drug abuse and that they should endeavor to engage themselves in relevant activities and avoid being idle.

He equally warned them against experimenting with drugs or allowing their friends to lure them to abuse drugs, stressing that they should ensure they take responsibility for their actions and not allow anyone determine their line of actions or inactions when it comes to drug intake. 

He further charged the corps members to champion the sensitization on drugs and drug abuse by enlightening those around them on the need to desist from drug abuse and live a better life.
