"ONLY OUR EFFORTS CAN STOP COVID-19"- NCDC SENSITIZES CORPS MEMBERS.

The Representative of NCDC and Member Infection Prevention Control (IPC), Mr Ayoola Ademola has told the 2020 Batch B Stream 1B corps members and those dislodged from Lagos that only collective efforts can stop the spread of COVID-19.

He stated this while addressing the corps members during the COVID-19 sensitization at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, on Wednesday.

Speaking at the sensitization, Mr Ayoola admonished the corps members to always adhere to the COVID-19 preventive protocols, stressing that COVID-19 is real. 

"Always adhere to the preventive protocols as stated by the NCDC and WHO because only that can save us", he said.

He further said that ignorance has been a problem to most Africans as some people still think that colour of skin is a determinant of strong immune system.

In Addition, He said that those with underlying health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes experience more severe symptoms and have higher morbidity rate.

Also Speaking at the sensitization,  Dr Salami Oluwasina from Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), emphasized on the need for the corps members to observe thorough hygiene and eat healthy meal for stronger immune system. 

"Strong immune system is a great force against the deadly virus, we must ensure that we attach importance to our health and what we eat", he concluded.
