HONOURABLE LAWAL CHARGES CORPS MEMBERS TO CHAMPION UNITY AND UPLIFTING THE NATION.
The Honorable Commissioner for Youths and Sports who doubles as the Chairman NYSC State Governing Board Hon. Lawal Azeez Olayemi has charged the 2020 Batch B stream 1B Corps members and those dislodged from Lagos state to champion the unity and Uplifting of the Nation in a Positive way.
The Commissioner who was ably represented by Mrs Caroline Olagunju, the director of youths stated this while addressing the corps members during the 'Low key' swearing-in ceremony of the 2020 Batch B stream 1B corps members , at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede , Osun state, On Tuesday.
Hon Lawal,while congratulating the corps members for their successful oath taking told the corps members that this is a new phase in their lives and they should utilize it positively to render selfless service that will take the Nation to a greater height.
He further urged the corps members to stay true to the National pledge and Oath of allegiance they swore to, stressing that they should not take laws into their hands but always channel their grievances in a civilised and constitutionally acceptable way.
Subsequently, the chairman appreciated the scheme for their relentless fight against COVID-19 by contributing immensely through their sensitization of the masses, production of jingles, donation of facemasks and hand sanitizers and many others.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC Osun, Mr Ayodele Adegoke sincerely welcomed the corps members to a new phase that will provide them an opportunity to contribute to national development on the platform of selfless service.
He further encouraged the corps members to approach the rest of their service year with vigor and discipline, and to embrace the opportunity provided by the state to be self reliant.
The NYSC boss also stated that the scheme is aimed at fostering national unity through her four cardinal programme namely: Orientation course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service and Passing out/winding out.
In addition, He said that the battle against COVID-19 is not over, hence compliance to the COVID-19 protocols is necessary and that the youths must be ready to participate in the great task of serving the Nation, regardless.
He finally urged all corps members to participate actively in all camp activities including inter platoon activities and the Skill Acquisition & Entrepreneurship Programme.
Present at the 'Low-key' swearing in ceremony are representative of Chief Judge of Osun state Hon,Justice Adekola Lateef Adegoke, representative of south west area director,Chief Tunde Fadairo, the camp Director; Mr Felix Ayibiowu and other camp officials.
