CARELESSNESS IS THE MAJOR CAUSE OF FIRE OUT BREAK- FED. FIRE SERVICE SENSITIZES CORPS MEMBERS

 

The Federal Fire Service Osogbo Branch has sensitized the 2020 Batch B stream 1B corps members on fire control and management in order to keep them safe when the need arises. 

The sensitization on fire control and management took place at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, On Wednesday.

According to ASF Adeyemo who spoke at the lecture, carelessness is the utmost cause of fire outbreak as he urged the corps members to be careful with the way they handle fire or any object that can trigger fire outbreak.

Speaking further, he advised them on the benefit of having the emergency number of the fire service team nearest to them, stressing that this will help prevent and minimize possible damage or outbreak. 

In addition, he told the corps members various measures  necessary to curtail fire outbreak which include; having a fire extinguisher in case of emergency, keeping fuel, gas or any flammable object out of reach of children, and proper examination of cylinder before use, and a host of other tips. 

In conclusion, the corps members were taken through practicals in fire management and control which includes usage of fire extinguishing blanket,   fire extinguisher, use of the fire truck and monitor in combating fire outbreaks, amongst others.
