Patriotism and Hardwork Fuels Nation Building-Governor Oyetola Tells Sworn-In Corps Members
The Executive Governor of Osun State, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has at the swearing-in Ceremony of the 2020 batch B stream 1A corps members deployed to Osun State and those dislodged from Lagos State for the orientation programme, enjoined the Corps members to embrace patriotism and Hardwork for the positive development of the country.
The Governor who was ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, stated this while addressing the Corps members at the lowkey swearing-in and official opening ceremony at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp,Ede on Monday.
Also speaking at the Ceremony, the Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports and the Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Hon. Lawal Azeez Olayemi, appreciated the State Government for their support of the NYSC Scheme so far. He encouraged the Corps members to have a positive mindset towards the orientation programme while promising them a warm and hospitable welcome by the people of Osun State.
Meanwhile, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke who delivered an introductory address at the ceremony earlier, urged the corps members to approach the NYSC programme with perseverance and vigour. He also admonished them to be self-reliant, disciplined and patriotic in their various endeavors.
"NYSC scheme is designed to raise disciplined and law abiding youths causing a desired sense of National Unity and integration achieved through the four cardinal programmes of the scheme'', Mr Adegoke Added.
Major highlight of the day was the administering of the national pledge and oath of allegiance on the corps members by the representative of the Honourable Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Adedoyin Adedamola Onibokun.
The ceremony was graced by few and essential guests and devoid of the usual fanfare and entertainment by corps members as a way of complying with the covid-19 protocols.
