Osun State Government Visits Orientation Camp As The 2020 Batch B Stream 1A Orientation Course Begins
The Osun State Government has on Tuesday paid an unscheduled visit to the ongoing 2020 Batch B stream 1A Orientation Course at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
The members of the Executive Council who came on the behest of the state government are: the Commissioner for Health, Dr Isamotu Rafiu Olasunkanmi; the Commissioner for Youths and Sports who is also the chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, Hon. Lawal Azeez Olayemi and the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Omowaye Oluremi. They were received by the Director, NYSC Southwest Area Office, Mr Emmanuel Attah and the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke at the Permanent Orientation Camp Ede, Osun State.
The team observed the protocols course participants and essential visitors were made to observe before been granted access into the camp, such as washing or sanitising the hands before entering through the gates and also passing through the ultraviolet steriliser and disinfectant tunnel before proceeding to the medical stand for the covid-19 screening. They commended the scheme for its strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols and for making the screening mandatory for all course participants.
While inspecting camp facilities and the level of compliance with the PTF and NCDC guidelines for the reopening of camps, the team expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation and maintenance of camp facilities by the scheme's management in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the members of the Executive Council, Hon. Lawal Azeez Olayemi assured the scheme of the government's commitment to the safety and welfare of the prospective corps members and those dislodged from Lagos for the Orientation programme.
"His Excellency, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola has sent us to assure you that you are not alone in this critical era of the COVID-19 pandemic.
" the government will do everything possible to ensure the safety of the prospective corps members deployed to Osun state and those dislodged from Lagos State for the orientation course.
"The management of the scheme has done very well and I want to tell you that the state government will equally do the needful by providing additional equipments for the smooth running of the programme" he said.
In his reaction, the state Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke appreciated the state government for deeming it fit to visit the prospective corps members and for assuring the scheme of the government's commitment to the safety and welfare of the members.
He assured them that the scheme as an important tool in nation building will continue to unite and integrate the nation as this is one of the core mandates of the scheme.
He further appreciated the Director, NYSC Southwest Area Office, Mr Emmanuel Attah for joining him in receiving the state government team at the ongoing orientation course and further appreciated him for his support and fatherly role in ensuring the safety and welfare of the scheme's members in the state.
