"Now You are Equipped and Set for the Business World"- Adegoke Congratulates Corps Members after Successful SAED In-Camp Training
The State Coordinator of the NYSC Osun State, Mr Ayodele Adegoke has on Friday congratulated the 2020 Batch A and Batch B Stream 1A for successfully completing the in-camp training of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
The SAED interplatoon skills competition/exhibition closing ceremony held at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede.
Speaking at the exhibition, Mr Adegoke told the corps members who participated in the SAED training that the skill has equipped them and made them top competitors in the world of business .
According to Mr Adegoke, SAED has undoubtedly reduced the rate of unemployment in the country and the scheme cannot undermine it because it is meant solely to equip the youth for a better future.
He further stated that the scheme did not set apart a special day to engage in the SAED post camp training like the community development service but that Corps members should utilise their time well and ensure they add value to their lives by acquiring skills capable of breaking the chains of unemployment and underemployment. He therefore warned the corps members against using the SAED as an excuse to skip work at their places of primary assignment as it may result to penalty of extension of service.
Meanwhile, the Head of SAED, Mrs Femi-Ajayi Olufunmilayo who also spoke during the Exhibition and closing ceremony of the Skill admonished the corps members to keep practicing what they learnt to avoid forgetting.
In addition, she appreciated the corps members who participated in the training as she rocks the beautifully made cloth, shoes, beads and hair made by the participants.
Subsequently, the corps members displayed products of the SAED training such as beads and facinators, clothes, tie and dye, food preservatives, interior decorating products amongst others to the Judges who observed critically.
The Corps members competed in Bead making and facinators, food processing, tailoring, tie and dye and leather works. At the end of the competition, the first, second and third position were rewarded accordingly.
