NCDC Trains Medical Corps Members on COVID-19 Sample collection and Testing
As NYSC camp, Ede Osun state works in preparation for the re-opening of the orientation camp, medical corps members undergo training on COVID-19 sample collection and testing.
The training which was aimed at ensuring the safe reopening of the NYSC camp was duly carried out by the NCDC officials at the conference room of the NYSC Osun state secretariat.
The state epidemiologist, Dr Adeagbo Omolola gave a short introduction to enlighten the medical corps members on the importance of the training.
She stated that NCDC in collaboration with the NYSC is working diligently to ensure the safety of prospective corps members in the orientation camp.
Also present at the training, Mr Stephen Ohuneri, NCDC surveillance support officer, enlightened the corps members on the process of data management, while Dr Ajibade Olufunke, Head of public health laboratory, ministry of health proceeded with a demonstration on the process of sample collection and testing.
During the training, the medical corps members were further educated on the appropriate use of the sample collection kits, testing kits and safety equipments.
Mr Stephen further encouraged the corps members stating that it is a privilege to be selected among other corps members to serve and render service in their capacity to the nation. He also advised them to stay safe at all times and protect themselves as they carry out their duties while on camp.
The Zonal inspector of Ikirun zone and head of clinic for the forthcoming orientation, Mr Abiodun Abiona who was also present at the training assured the medical corps members of their welfare during their stay in orientation camp and also thanked them for their willingness and cooperation.
