Mrs Okpalifo Educates Corps members on Community Development Services

 


The Head of Accommodation on Camp,  Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli has enlightened the 2020 Batch B stream 1 corps members on community development service urging them to ensure they participate actively in the secondary assignment.

She made this known on Thursday during the NYSC lecture at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.

She advised the Corps members to take on development project which would impact positively on the lives of the people of their host community, stressing that CDS is one of the four cardinal programmes of the scheme which all members must participate in to qualify for the issuance of the national certificate of service.


"CDS is a component of NYSC through which the service corps members work with the local communities to promote self-reliance by systematically prospecting and executing development projects and programmes which impact positively on the socioeconomic growth and development of the host communities", She added. 

She concluded, by telling the corps members on the process and steps to take before embarking on a community development project and advised them to endeavor to seek for the state coordinator's approval before embarking on any project.
