NYSC Osun State gets High Rating as NCDC Inspects Orientation Camp
The NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede Osun State received high ratings during the covid-19 protocol compliance inspection by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
The State Epidemiologist, Dr Adeagbo Omolola, who led the NCDC team, commended the management and Staff of the NYSC Osun State on their effort towards the maintenance of the orientation camp to suit the COVID-19 protocols.
Commending their efforts, Dr Adeagbo stated that the reason for the inspection is to ensure that the COVID-19 protocols are met and for the utmost safety of the prospective corps members.
Also, a member of the team, Mr Fafioye Rasaq, the State Disease Surveillance and Notification Officer expressed his satisfaction after been taken around the camp by the state coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke.
He rated the camp as the best.
"with what I have seen so far, the NYSC Orientation Camp Ede Osun State is the best" he stated.
Correspondingly, the NCDC State Laboratory Focal Person, Mrs Ibitoye Bukola joined her colleagues to laud the efforts of the management in maintaining the orientation camp and ensuring it is in a topnotch condition.
Meanwhile, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adewale Adegoke, while showing them the preparedness and covid-19 protocol compliance level of the scheme in the state assured the NCDC of the utmost safety of the prospective corps members.
"Our Director-General, Brig. Gen Shuiabu Ibrahim mandated all states to ensure strict compliance with the NCDC protocols and further instructed that the sample collection booth be made available in every camp for the safety of our corps members.
"this is a reflection of how much these corps members mean to him and to all staff of the scheme. They are dear to us and therefore, we can not jeopardise their health and safety.
"this is why the scheme is ensuring absolute compliance as you must have observed during your inspection".
The team were shown the numerous hand washing points outside and within the camp, the sample collection booth, the automated and mechanised handwashing machines fabricated by corps members for camp use, the bed-spacing in the hostels and clinic, the isolation center, kitchen and dining, thermometers acquired, camp surroundings, among others.
The NCDC team left absolutely satisfied with what they had seen.
