NYSC at 47: ADEGOKE STORMS HOSPITALS DONATES RELIEF ITEMS

In commemoration of the National youth service corps 47th year anniversary, NYSC Osun State  has donated relief materials to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Hospital and State Hospital Asubiaro in Osogbo as measures to aid in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The State Coordinator,  Mr Ayodele Adegoke,  while delivering the materials on Wednesday  said the scheme decided to celebrate its anniversary by making donations to selected hospitals in the State.

He also appreciated the hospitals for always taking care of corps members with health issues when the need arises.

The donations would have been made earlier when the scheme clocked 47 on Friday,  but due to the total lockdown in the State and the two days public holiday, the donation had to be postponed to today.

We want you to know that the scheme under the leadership of the Director General,  Brig. Gen. Shuiabu Ibrahim, is committed to not only joining the fight but also ready to lead in the fight against the pandemic threatening to cripple the nations of the world.

"You are in the forefront of this fight as medical personnel and we, therefore decided to commemorate the scheme's anniversary by donating these preventive materials to you as our own way of standing in solidarity with you as we courageously battle the pandemic", he said.

The materials presented include; face masks, sanitisers, liquid hand wash,  tissues, among others.

Meanwhile, Mr Adegoke also presented food items donated by the 2019 Batch B Editorial CDS group to the Little Angels Orphanage on behalf of the corps members to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Hospital,  Osogbo.

Receiving the items, the Hospitals Administrator Rev. Father Simeon Oyetumi who expressed delight at the benevolent gesture, thanked the  scheme for being innovative in giving the items to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic and cater for the needs of its orphanage home. While, The Chief Consultant of the State Hospital, DR A.B Bello also appreciated the Scheme for remembering the hospital in this trying time.
