SELF INDUCED REJECTION IS PUNISHABLE- AD CIM

The Assistant Director, Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr Jegede Rufus has warned corps members against involvement in any form of corruption at their place of primary assignment, such as persuading the employers to reject their posting letter, defacing of NYSC uniform, traveling without permission and other related offenses.

Jegede who advised the corps members to be law abiding and security conscious at all times, further stated that the role of the monitoring and inspection branch is to monitor the corps members throughout the service year. He added that the branch will not tolerate any form of corruption, poor performance, or abscondment by any corps member.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Director Corps Discipline and Reward, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli who delivered a lecture earlier admonished the corps members on the need to have a positive relationship with their local government inspectors and avoid going contrary to the rules and regulations of NYSC. " The scheme has  a system of not only rewarding corps members with outstanding performance during the service year but also a system of punishing corps members who go against the regulations stipulated in the NYSC bye-laws". She added.

Okpalifo further warned that rejection of posting  by any corps member is punishable. She therefore enjoined the members to accept their postings with a positive mindset and be fully prepared to impart positively upon their host communities. She stressed on the need for them to make discipline their watchword throughout the service year.
