OBA KAMARUDEEN URGES CORPS MEMBERS TO RESPECT THE CULTURE AND TRADITION OF THEIR HOST STATE.
His Royal highness Oba Kamarudeen Adeyanju, the Olororuwo of Ororuwo Land, has advised the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 corps members on the need to respect the way of life of their host community.
Oba Kamarudeen gave the charge while delivering a traditional lecture on the culture and traditions of the Yorubas’ at the multipurpose hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun state, on Friday.
He charged the corps members to always represent their culture in all spheres of their lives and respect the culture of others for peaceful co-existence.
According to Oba Kamarudeen "Wear your culture like an armour, for it is your identity, and it should be represented in a positive way in order to promote peace, love and unity"
He further enjoined the corps members to remain disciplined and patriotic in all their endeavors and remain ambassadors of peace, love and unity among the ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Oba Kamarudeen allayed the negative notions some of the corps members have about the Yoruba. He described the Yoruba as peaceful, diplomatic, flamboyant, sociable and hospitable and very accommodating.
